Actually, the surroundings of Madrigueras are too beautiful for laziness. But you have to let go sometimes and relax in the sun with a good book or take a plunge into our pool. With its ideally quiet setting, our house is the perfect place for a total disconnection from the everyday hustle.
But soon you will hear the loud call of nature beckoning you. It's time to tie the laces of your hiking shoes and go out into the open. The mountains of the Sierra de Grazalema, afoot of which we're located, offer a great variety of occasions to overload your senses. And if you aim even higher, then the Sierra Nevada with Spain's highest peaks of more than 3,000 metres (10,000 feet) above sea level, is within reach of a daytrip. Even the sea is only a one and a half hours drive away. You can even choose between the Mediterranean Sea and the Atlantic Ocean. And the drive there is an experience in itself.
If you're more into adventure and excitement, we have a strong partner at our side who has a 15 year experience in organising different kinds of outdoor events. You can choose between bungee jumping, canoeing, climbing, mountainbiking, canyoning, caving, paragliding and more. We also have a partner who is a licensed guide for hiking tours throughout the area (english, spanish and german speaking). If you're interested in taking part in one such event, contact us beforehand, as spontaneous participation is difficult due to required preparation and planning. You best add this as a note during your booking process.
Our location is an ideal basis for daytrips by car to one of the big cities of Andalusia: Sevilla, Cádiz, Jerez or Granada. All of these cities are no more than two hours away and very well worth a visit. Such trips would be a great complement in your catalog of activities.
Summer is fiesta-season in Andalusia. Virtually every week there is a fiesta somewhere in a village or town nearby. Here you can breathe the soul of Andalusia. The fiestas will long remain in your memories with their colorful clothes and decorations, the traditional music and food and drinks.
We will be happy to share with you our experiences, hints and tips from our own excursions and trips in the area, as well as printed info brochures and maps.
